On the third day of escalating tensions, India and Pakistan are accusing each other of carrying out attacks using drones and heavy weapons on each other's territory.
According to Reuters, this is described as the worst confrontation between the two nuclear-armed South Asian countries in the past thirty years.
Tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi began following an attack on tourists in Indian-administered Kashmir.
Although Islamabad denied any Pakistani involvement in the attack, New Delhi responded with airstrikes on areas in Muzaffarabad, in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, last Wednesday. As a result, sporadic clashes between the two sides have continued since then.
At least 50 people have been killed in these clashes so far.
Due to the ongoing tensions, many residents in both countries have been forced to leave their homes, and power outages have been reported in several cities.
Beyond security concerns, the tensions have also affected sports. The remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League are now set to be held in the United Arab Emirates.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced that a revised schedule will be released later.
Meanwhile, sources told Reuters that the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) has also been suspended by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Earlier, some Indian media reported that the BCCI was expected to decide on the fate of the IPL today (Friday).
