Two Moscow Airports Closed After Ukrainian Drone Attacks

Reuters, citing Russian officials, reported that two airports near Moscow were temporarily closed due to Ukrainian drone attacks.

The mayor of Moscow said nine Ukrainian drones were intercepted and that no serious damage occurred.

Russia’s civil aviation authority stated that the airports were closed for safety reasons.

Meanwhile, some US officials told Reuters that Russian President Vladimir Putin is preparing to retaliate against the drone attacks and may launch a major, threatening strike.

These officials said the strike could happen in the coming days and would likely include missile and drone attacks.

Although Russia launched some drone strikes on Kyiv last Friday in response to Ukraine’s earlier attacks, US officials believe Russia is planning an even larger assault.

They believe Moscow could target Ukraine’s military facilities and security agencies.
