Within the last day, at least 39 Palestinians have died in Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip.
Official data indicates that since the onset of hostilities between Hamas and Israel, a total of 34,943 Palestinians have been killed and an additional 78,572 have sustained injuries.
Khitam Al-Khatib, a resident of the Gaza Strip, said: “Here they are, in pieces, here is my sister in-law, without a head, my aunt is without a head, what is this injustice, until when will this be going on, we are exhausted, by God we are exhausted, I have been in tents for the past 7 months, I have never lived in a tent before, we were not cut out for this, the women of Palestine were not cut out for this, we were always honored, it is not fair that this is happening to them, it is not fair. By God we are exhausted with all of this.”
Awad Naji, another resident of the Gaza Strip, said: “We initially evacuated to Rafah from Al-Jinenah, then we evacuated here after they said that the central area is safe, there is no safe place in all of the Gaza strip, there is no inch that is safe. They said it is safe, it is not safe, they hit randomly, and without warning, Allah [Alone] is sufficient for us, and He Is the best Disposer of affairs [for us].”
The Israeli army has asked the residents of Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip to leave their homes and evacuate.
Mohammad Abualkas, a displaced Palestinian, said: “We were in Gaza (city) and they told us to evacuate to Khan Younis, then from Khan Younis they told us to go to Rafah, and they currently told us to evacuate to Mawasi, to leave Rafah (Reporter Asking if he will evacuate Rafah) I have to as you can see, (Reporter Asking where will he go) I will go to al-Zawayda, (Reporter Asking if it is safe there) in the time of war there is no place that is safe, we expect strikes everywhere.”
Nidal, a displaced Palestinian, said: “I still did not evacuate, they have given notifications about it, but honestly I do not have a tent to go to, all the tents were distributed already, and I do not have cash to get a vehicle to move my belongings which costs 400 or 500 shekels, it is a very difficult situation, can you imagine having to evacuate when you don't have the means to do so.”
The Israeli army has announced the continuation of military operations in the south of Rafah city and the central part of the Gaza Strip, stating that it will intensify its attacks in the city of Rafah.
Daniel Hagari, a spokesperson for the Israeli army, said: “In northern Gaza, in the last hour, fighter jets have been striking terrorist targets. This morning we began a temporary evacuation process of the Jabalia area from this area towards the center of the strip as part of our preparation for a military operation in the area. In recent weeks, we have identified attempts by Hamas to restore its military capabilities in Jabalia and we are working to dismantle these attempts.”
Hamas, in a statement, has stated that the only way to free Israeli hostages is a permanent ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip
