Former Iranian Diplomat Analyzes Pakistan's '3 Crises'

Former Iranian ambassador to Afghanistan Mohammad Reza Bahrami said in an article that the current situation in Pakistan is the most difficult situation that this country has faced in the last two decades.

In this article, published in an Iranian news outlet, he stated that Pakistan is dealing with three crises of the economy, political instability and increasing extremism and terrorism, and it does not have the necessary resources to manage these crises at the same time.

According to Bahrami, the crisis of political instability intensified with the removal of former Pakistan PM Imran Khan in Pakistan, and the economic crisis is mainly caused by an economy that does not produce enough and spends too much.

And the security crisis of Pakistan mainly arises from the movement of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).

Although the aims and demands of these two armed movements are different and none of them are able to threaten the survival of Pakistan, there are signs of closeness between these two movements, said Bahrami, as quoted in the article.
