The tribal Jirga of Pashtuns which began on October 11, in the Khyber region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, announced its decisions on Sunday night, October 13.
Manzoor Pashteen, the leader of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) presented the decisions which were welcomed by the participants of the Jirga.
According to the Jirga's decision, within the next 60 days, the Pakistani army and all armed groups, including Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and ISIS, must leave Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Pashteen emphasized that no war has taken place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and no country has attacked them, so there is no need for support from armed groups or the army.
He added that if this decision is not implemented within the next two months, the Jirga will seek other solutions.
Allowing movement across the hypothetical Durand Line by commercial and non-commercial vehicles without a visa or passport was another decision of the Jirga, which called on the Pakistani government to reopen the route as it was from 1893 to 2010.
Additionally, the Jirga decided to form another Jirga to travel to Pashtun areas and resolve internal disputes between different tribes and ethnic groups.
Another decision of the Jirga was to reduce electricity costs in Pashtun areas to the lowest possible level.
According to the resolution, residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the tribal areas should not become victims to extortion and avoid giving money to those in uniform or not.
At the end of the Jirga, Manzoor Pashteen, while announcing this resolution, took an oath with all participants to make every effort to implement the Jirga's decisions.
