In the return match of the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup and 2027 Asian Cup, the Afghanistan national football team will play against India.

Officials in the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) announced that this match between the two teams will start today (Tuesday, March 27), at 6:00 PM (Kabul time), hosted by India.

In the second round of the 2026 World Cup and 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, the national team is in the same group with Qatar, Kuwait, and India.

The first match between the two teams, which was hosted by Afghanistan in Saudi Arabia, was a draw without goals scored.

So far, in the contests hosted by Afghanistan, the national players have lost to Qatar and Kuwait but managed to secure a goalless draw against India and thus earned one point in the group.

The national football team will also compete against Qatar and Kuwait in the return matches of the competitions.
