Clashes With Pakistani Military Resume at Spin Boldak

Clashes have resumed between Islamic Emirate forces and the Pakistan military along the Durand Line in Spin Boldak in Kandahar province, local officials said.

The commander of Spin Boldak in Kandahar, Mawlawi Mohammad Hashim Mahmood, confirmed the resumption of clashes to TOLOnews but didn’t provide details about the motive or any numbers of casualties.

In a statement, the Defense Ministry said that on Thursday Pakistani forces opened fire on the Spin Boldak district of Kandahar.

Enayatullah Khwarazmi, Defense Ministry spokesperson, said: "The Islamic Emirate considers dialogue a reasonable solution to any problem, negative acts and making excuses for war are not in the interests of any side."

Health officials said that they have received four people with injuries from the fighting.

Residents said that one civilian was killed and 16 civilians were wounded in these clashes.

The motive behind the fighting is still unclear but the residents said the clashes happened when the Islamic Emirate forces tried to build a checkpoint near the Durand Line.

This is the second incident between the two sides in the last week.
