The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL) said that a delegation from the Islamic Emirate headed by the deputy minister has traveled to Uzbekistan to discuss issues and attract investment in the agricultural sector and to develop cooperation in the agricultural sector.
The Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock said that investment in the agricultural sector can make Afghanistan self-sufficient in food production.
The spokesperson of the ministry said that efforts are being made to discuss attracting investment in the agriculture and livestock sector during this trip.
"The purpose of this trip is to strengthen communication and coordination between agriculture investors and also to develop cooperation in the agriculture sector of both countries," said Musbahuddin Mustaeen, the spokesman of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock.
The Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock said that investing in the agricultural sector is beneficial to economic growth and providing work for the country's citizens.
"Our businessmen can come to build good relations with businessmen of Uzbekistan and businessmen who have enough experience and can invest in Afghanistan. This will be a good income for our government and it will also provide employment opportunities," said Mirwais Hajizada, deputy head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock (ACAL).
A number of economic analysts said the visit of the delegation of the Islamic Emirate to Uzbekistan is important in the development of economic relations.
"As much as Afghanistan can increase its economic and political interactions with neighboring countries and the region, it will help us to expand our business and attract investments," said Abdul Nasir Reshtia, an economic analyst.
This is while the vice president of Uzbekistan has previously come to Afghanistan and pledged that his country is ready to invest in various sectors in Afghanistan.
