Afghan students who are studying in India once again said that they have been living in uncertainty for more than two and a half years.

They asked the Islamic Emirate to pay serious attention to resolving their challenges.

According to Zamen Ali Haidari, a doctorate student at an Indian university, said the Indian authorities cancelled several Afghan students' study visas, including his own, following the reestablishment of the Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan.

“I ask the Islamic Emirate to try to establish its foreign relations with India. They should at least do something to help those students who are stuck in Afghanistan, and talk to the Indian government about them and tell them these are not politicians,” Haidari told TOLOnews.

Some Afghan students studying in India are concerned that the Indian government will revoke their scholarships and refuse to renew their visas.

“Afghan students suffer from the issue that Indian government would revoke their scholarships and lack of access to visas,” said Najibullah Rahmati, a master's student in India.

“They are concerned that the government of India will refuse to give them scholarships,” said Ishaq Sarwari, a student.

However, the Islamic Emirate said that they are in contact with Indian authorities to find a suitable solution for the challenges of Afghan students there.

“We have tried our best in this regard, we are in contact with the Indian government, but so far there has been no proper solution to this. We want this problem to be solved as soon as possible, and visas should be given to Afghans and for interaction between the two countries to continue normally,” said Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate.

Earlier, the acting Consul General of Afghanistan in Mumbai, Sayed Mohammad Ibrahimkhil, said in a video that he and the Consul General of Afghanistan in Hyderabad, Zakia Wardak, have taken responsibility for the consulate services of Afghanistan’s embassy in New Delhi based on requests of the Indian government.
