30,000 to Take Hajj Pilgrimage This Year: Ministry

Noor Mohammad Saqib, the acting Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs, said that this year, 30,000 Afghans will go to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.

Speaking at a press conference, Noor Mohammad Saqib said that the first group of pilgrims is expected to go to Saudi Arabia on the 19th of Jawza (June 8, 2024 ).
  
According to him, good facilities have been provided for this year's Hajj pilgrims, and quotas have also been allocated for women.

“This year, Saudi Arabia has allocated 30,000 Hajj quotas to Afghanistan, which have been distributed transparently and fairly among Hajj applicants across the country,” Saqib said.

The acting Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs stated that the transportation of pilgrims from Kabul, Herat, Balkh, and Kandahar will be carried out by private and state-owned airlines.

“This year, the cost of Hajj for each applicant has been set at $3,865.98, which is equivalent to 277,006.74 Afghanis, and the Hajj expenses for our Shia compatriots differ by $50,” he said.

Attaullah Khadem, the head of Hajj, Umrah, and Pilgrimage Affairs of the ministry, said that this year's Hajj ceremony has allocated quotas for about 8,000 women and nearly 4,000 individuals from Islamic Emirate officials, migrants, and the heirs of martyrs.

"More than 3,800 new individuals registered to attend the Hajj ceremony, and these individuals were organized, and also, quotas for the Hajj ceremony have been allocated to 3,941 Mujahideen," he said.

Based on the information from the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs, the total cost of Hajj per pilgrim this year is set at $3,865, but Shia pilgrims will pay an additional $50 for separate transportation to the Hajj ceremony.
