Shooting Claims on Civilians in Bala Buluk District of Farah

Following claims of security forces firing on civilians in the Bala Buluk district of Farah province, the residents of the province are calling on security institutions to make efforts in securing the safety of the people.

Yesterday, after a conflict between two groups of civilians over land in Farah, one side claimed that the security forces had fired on them, wounding three individuals.

Mohammad Dawood, a resident of Farah, said: "Our request from the authorities is to resolve the Bala Buluk issue through dialogue, and closing the path they had was not the right action."

Ahmad, another resident of Farah, said: "Our request from the people is to solve their problems through dialogue and tribal elders, and if that's not possible, we have a government, and they should solve it through the Islamic Emirate."

However, local officials in Farah deny the shooting on civilians by security forces.

Abdul Hai Sabawoon, the head of Information and Culture in Farah, states that the security forces, after being deployed to the location, have prevented any further conflicts.

Sabawoon said: "After the security forces and the council of scholars from the center and a committee from the department of vice and virtue arrived there, currently, there is no problem, and the issue is resolved."

Two groups of people from the village of Kansak in Bala Buluk district of Farah province clashed over a land dispute on Monday of this week, and after the conflict, they blocked the Farah-Herat main highway for several hours."
