CE Abdullah in Uzbekistan for SCO Meeting

Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah on Friday arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Council of Heads of Government.

He was received by Deputy Prime Minister Uzbekistan A. Abdukhakimov at Tashkent International Airport.

Talking about his trip, Abdullah said in a tweet that he will speak at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHGM), and will attend several bilateral meetings with prime ministers and representatives of member and observer countries participating in the meeting.

“I thank the brotherly Government and people of Uzbekistan for their warm welcome and hospitality,” Abdullah said in a tweet.

Uzbekistan media reported that the current issues on the agenda of the SCO Council of Heads of Government, as well as prospects for further strengthening and developing cooperation within the organization, will be discussed at the event to be held on November 1-2, in Tashkent.

In this meeting, heads of governments will also exchange views on pressing issues of the international and regional agenda.

The attendees are expected to sign documents aimed at further expanding cooperation within the SCO.
