Gunmen attacked Afghan women employees of Bagram Air Base in Bagram district of Kabul province on Wednesday afternoon, killing three and wounding another, officials confirmed.
The attack took place close to the Air Base. The attackers managed to escape from the area, district governor, Abdul Shokoor Qudousi said.
“The women were working in the security section at Bagram Air Base and their duties were to search people before entering to the base,” Qudousi said.
No group, including the Taliban, has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Bagram Airbase is the biggest US military base in the country and is located about 40km from Kabul.
