New Business/VIP Area at Kabul Airport Inaugurated by MoTCA

The Ministry of Transportation and Civil Aviation inaugurated a lounge area for traders at the Kabul International Airport on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the construction of a new gate of Kabul Airport, costing $50,000, by a private company has began.

According to the officials of the MoTCA, the construction is due to be completed within the next 6 months.

The deputy Minister of Transportation and Civil Aviation in finance and administrative affairs, Sediqullah Abid, called on the traders to help the ministry in improvement of facilities and design of the airports in Afghanistan.

"We have created a VIP section in every airport. The sections will provide services and they are provided with cards," he said.

"The airport displays the image of a country. A foreigner or an Afghan trader who comes to Afghanistan after many years gets their first impression of the country at the airport," said Ghulam Jailani Wafa,” said deputy minister of Transportation and Civil Aviation in Operational Affairs.

Speaking at the same gathering, the head of the Kabul airport, Abdul Hadi Mohammad, called for collective cooperation to reconstruct the country.

"Now is the time to develop our country. The traders should also take part in this regard,” he said.

According to MoTCA, at least 27 airports are currently active in the country and foreign flights are being conducted through Kabul, Mazar-e Sharif, Herat and Kandahar.
