One Security Force Member Killed, Four Wounded in Kabul Blast

One security force member was killed and four more were wounded in an IED explosion that targeted an army vehicle in Qarabagh district in Kabul on Monday morning, police said in a statement. 

The incident happened at around 7:00 am local time in Sabz Sang village in Qarabagh district, police said.

“Another mine was seized and defused by the security forces team,” police said. 

No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the blast. 

On Sunday, three security force members were killed in a car bomb attack in Paghman district west of the city of Kabul on Sunday evening, police said. 

According to police, the explosive-laden vehicle was detonated near a military vehicle. At least 12 security force members were wounded in the explosion, police said. 

The explosion happened hours after a roadside bomb blast targeted an army vehicle in Paghman district on Sunday morning in which one security force member was killed and three more were wounded, according to police. 

Data collected by TOLOnews shows that at least 307 Afghans were killed, and 350 others were wounded in a series of explosions and targeted attacks in March. 

Based on the TOLOnews findings, there has been a 20-percent increase in the number of explosions and targeted attacks in the country in March compared to February. 

In February, the casualties were around 264 deaths and 278 injuries.
