Abdul Hadi Safi Wounded by Unknown Gunmen

Abdul Hadi Safi, a former member of parliament from Kapisa province, was attacked by several unknown gunmen in Kabul while he was returning home from mosque after Friday prayers.

Safi’s family say they do not have animosity toward anyone and called on the Islamic Emirate to identify and punish the perpetrators.

Abdul Basir Safi, the eldest son of Abdul Hadi Safi, said that his father was returning home from Friday’s prayers in Kabul’s fourth PD when he was shot by unknown gunmen on motorcycles.

“The Islamic Emirate should make it clear whether they did it or someone else,” said Abdul Basir Safi, Safi’s son.

“The person who did this, whoever he was, if he is not punished, it will not be good for the Islamic Emirate,” said Abdul Ghafar Safi, Safi’s brother.

Meanwhile, officials of the Kabul security department said they are attempting to arrest the perpetrators.

“The case is under investigation and the security forces are trying to arrest the perpetrators,” said General Mobin Khan, spokesman for the Kabul security department.

A number of residents criticized the occurrence of such incidents in broad daylight in the center of the country.

A number of Kabul residents have been targeted by attacks and kidnappings in Kabul.
