Logar Families Displaced by Flooding Request Schooling for Children

The families who have been affected by floods and are currently displaced called on relevant organizations to provide their children with educational opportunities.

The families said that they have lost their homes in the floods and are currently living in camps.

“These children should study to learn something,” said Sharif Gul, a resident of Logar.

“There are people who cannot go to schools here. We need the support of UNICEF to provide educational classes in these camps,” said Shir Hassan, a resident of Logar.

“The winter is coming. UNICEF should provide educational opportunities for these children,” said Ghafar Khan, a resident of Logar.

The provincial department of education also called on the aid organizations to help them to facilitate access to education for the displaced people in Logar.

“We are aware of this issue and we have our focus on it. There has been some progress and we hope the organizations support us in this regard,” said Mawlawi Janat Gul Aziz, head of the Logar department of education.

According to figures given by provincial officials, around 3,000 families have been displaced due to floods hitting several parts of Khoshi district.
