Pakistan FM Urges Kabul to Address Genuine Concerns of Islamabad and Others

Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at a press conference said that Pakistan’s approach to Afghanistan has been "quite clear, saying that Islamabad "maintained robust practical engagement with the Afghan interim government working on areas such as security, border control, and markets, commerce, health, education, transit trade, and ... bilateral cooperation.”

Zardari said that Pakistan continues to work to promote "peace, security, and stability" for Afghanistan.

"You can study yourself, and tell me. I think our cooperation and engagement is necessary. But a country which seriously wants diplomatic legitimacy and diplomatic recognition, should address genuine concerns of us and other countries... otherwise the situation will remain as it is and it will affect first the Afghan people and then our people," he said.

The Islamic Emirate’s Spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid, said that Kabul has the Islamic Emirate wants to have good relations with Islamabad, saying that the allegations of the Pakistani officials about involvement of Afghan nationals affects the relations between the two countries. 

“There are some issues. But off course the Islamic Emirate and the Afghans are not responsible for it, if our relations with Pakistan have been affected,” Mujahid said.

Meanwhile, some of the political officials said that the negotiations between Kabul and Islamabad. 

“To prevent these allegations and claims and concerns of Pakistan and Iran, the Taliban should accept conditions of the international for countering terrorism,” said Wais Naseri, political analyst.

The Islamic Emirate's spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, in an earlier statement reacted to the Pakistani official’s claim about Afghans being involved in terrorist incidents in Pakistan and said that Afghanistan’s soil is not a threat to any other country.

According to Mujahid, at least 18 Pakistani nationals who were affiliated with Daesh and were conducting attacks in Afghanistan, have been killed in various operations and dozens of others have been arrested in the 1444 hijri year.
