Residents of Kabul have criticized the security forces of the Islamic Emirate for patrolling various parts of the city without wearing uniforms.
Residents asked the Islamic Emirate to provide uniforms to the security forces as quickly as possible to stop illegal use of the security forces' name.
"Islamic Emirate forces are not clear at any checkpoints, whether they are military forces or civilian,” said Abdullah, a resident of Kabul.
"They should specify the Mujahideen uniform because everyone misuses the Islamic Emirate’s Mujahideen uniform. God forbid, someone would do something wrong with the Mujahideen uniform and drag the name of the Emirate into disgrace,” said Homayoun, another resident of Kabul.
According to military analysts, wearing a uniform is a requirement for the security forces' military duties.
"When someone is in the military framework, it is necessary to apply all the laws and principles of the military on him, one of which is the use of a uniform and weapons,” said Abdul Matin Mohammadkhail, a security analyst.
However, according to the Ministry of Interior, 60% of the Ministry of Interior's security personnel nationwide have received new uniforms, and the process is still ongoing.
The Ministry of Interior's spokesman, Abdul Matin Qani, said that the reason this procedure is moving so slowly is because of economic difficulties.
"In general, about 60% of the police of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan have received uniforms related to the Ministry of Interior Affairs, and distribution will start in the future," said Qani.
This comes as, the residents of the nation previously expressed concern over the security forces' lack of specified uniforms and asked that a specific uniform should be distributed to them.
