A clash happened between the Islamic Emirate’s forces and Pakistani military at the Torkham crossing on Wednesday, local officials confirmed.

The head of the information department of the department of Information and Culture of Nangarhar, Qureshi Badlon, said in a statement that the Pakistani military opened fire first.

He said that the clash was stopped and that there is no information about casualties.

The residents said that the clash happened after the Pakistani military reacted to the building of checkpoints by Islamic Emirate forces.

Sources told TOLOnews that the Torkham crossing has been closed for all traffic.
