The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that $150 million in exports have been made abroad through air corridors in the past year.

Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, the spokesman of the ministry, said that they are trying to increase the amount of exports through air corridors.

According to the official, in the past year, trade worth $290 million dollars has been made from air corridors to other countries.

The spokesman said: "We are currently trying to connect with other countries through air corridors. We are currently connected with India, China, and the United Arab Emirates through air corridors."

The Chamber of Commerce and Investment said that the resumption of flights by international companies plays an important role in increasing exports through air corridors, and most of Afghanistan's pine nuts, fresh fruit and dried fruit are exported through air corridors.

Khan Jan Alokozay, a member of the ACCI’s board of directors, said: “We used to have a contract with Turkish Airlines, Air India, Kam Air and Ariana Afghan Airlines based on a system, but unfortunately this system has been destroyed and we are currently serving businessmen with our facilities and we also have transfers to China and India.”

A number of business people emphasized that they need to be given (financial assistance) to export their goods through air corridors at a lower price.

"In order to facilitate the air corridors, especially the creation of multiple flights by international and domestic companies, the government should take over the corridor program with global subsidies or global donors and joint government subsidies for the increase of exports from the corridor,” said Mahboobullah Mohammadi, a trader.

"Subsidy traders should be considered because the cost of goods has decreased and also because industrial goods compete well in foreign markets,” said Salman Raha, another trader.

According to the information of the ministry, the value of Afghanistan's export goods in 2023 reached nearly $2 billion.
