Relations Between Kabul and Moscow Expanding: Islamic Emirate

The acting Minister for Foreign Affairs, Amir Khan Muttaqi, said that by improving the level of relations between Kabul and Moscow, many improvements can be made in various sectors.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, said that the acting minister of Foreign Affairs in a meeting with Ruslan Edelgeriyev, the adviser to the president of Russia and special presidential Representative on Climate Change, asked for Russia's support for the participation of the delegation of the Islamic Emirate in international conferences of environmental protection.

According to Mujahid, in this meeting, the adviser to the president of Russia and special presidential representative on climate change said that Russia will also support the participation of the delegation of the Islamic Emirate in the upcoming 29th UN Climate Change Conference.

Mujahid said: "During this meeting, Amir Khan Muttaqi discussed relations with Russia, non-imposition of conditions on Afghanistan by other countries, and Russian officials also emphasized strengthening relations with the Islamic Emirate."

A number of analysts said the relations between Kabul and Moscow are important and said that the presence of the caretaker government delegation in the upcoming 29th UN Climate Change Conference is also effective for solving climate problems in the country.

“If Russia invites the Afghan delegation to participate in the upcoming meeting on climate change, political and economic changes will also occur and we must adapt to them,” Sayed Ebadullah Sadeq, a political analyst, told TOLOnews.

"The presence of the Afghan delegation in such conferences is very important and it provides an opportunity to raise our voice in this conference on behalf of the people of Afghanistan so that we can cooperate with the harm of climate change in Afghanistan," said Azizullah Sediqi, former deputy of the national environmental protection agency.

The acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nooruddin Azizi, also met with Ruslan Edelgeriyev, and the two sides discussed bilateral commercial relations, transit relations, Islamic banking, the resumption of the Joint Economic Commission, Russian investment in Afghanistan, ease of issuing business visas, and Afghanistan's participation in the “15th Russia - the Islamic World: Kazan Forum”.
