Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, who traveled to Uruzgan to assess the situation of those residents affected by recent flooding, expressed sympathy with the affected families and promised them immediate cooperation.
During his visit, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs pledged that cash aid would be distributed to the victims.
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar said: "I offer my condolences to those who have suffered financial losses, lost family members, and had their homes destroyed, and I wish them patience."
According to Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the interim government is striving to deliver the necessary assistance to all affected.
Enayatullah Shuja, the governor of Uruzgan, stated that the recent floods in Tirinkot and the districts of this province have so far resulted in 12 deaths and 6 injuries. He also mentioned that 468 homes have been seriously damaged due to these floods.
The Governor of Uruzgan said: 'In the province of Uruzgan, we now have twelve martyrs and six injured. These are from various districts.'
Families affected in the province have stated that, in addition to loss of life, the floods have also caused significant financial damage. They are requesting immediate assistance from the interim government and aid agencies.
According to local officials in Uruzgan, the floods this week have destroyed over 11,000 jeribs of agricultural land, 3 major bridges, and 51 canals and headgates."
