Group Of Haqqani Members Arrested in Paktia Operation

A group of 20 Haqqani Network members, including their commander, were arrested in a special operation in eastern Paktia province, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said in a statement on Monday.

The commander of the group, named Sayed Abdul Rahman, who was also known as Khaibar, was arrested in a special operation which was conducted by NDS in Zurmat district of the province, according to the statement.

The statement said that the commander had been involved in most of the insurgency activity in the province and added that he also terrorized government employees and tribal elders.

However, the statement did not provide further details about the operation.
