FARAKHABAR: A Taliban’s Delegation to Tehran

A Taliban delegation led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar traveled to Iran to discuss the Afghan peace process with Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s foreign minister.

Taliban's Qatar office spokesman said that the Taliban’s deputy leader Mullah Barader discussed the “peace process” and the “problems of Afghan asylum seekers in Iran.”

Meanwhile, the European Union’s ambassador to Afghanistan, Pierre Mayaudon, hopes that the Taliban will “start negotiations” with the Afghan government.

The Taliban’s trip to Iran comes as efforts have been accelerated to restart the peace process between the Taliban and the US.
