The UN on Monday banned two Islamic Emirate officials from traveling in response to the restrictions they have imposed on Afghan women, diplomats told AFP.
According to a diplomat who spoke on condition of anonymity to AFP, the officials now banned from traveling are Said Ahmad Shaidkhel, acting deputy education minister, and Abdul Baqi Haqqani, the acting Minister of Higher Education..
ccording to AFP, for thirteen Islamic Emirate officials the travel exemptions were extended for at least two months. The Islamic Emirate has yet to comment on the issue.
