First Vice President Amrullah Saleh on Friday said the government will continue its fight against the Taliban by fully supporting the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces and the public uprising forces.  

At least 18 civilians were killed and 260 more were wounded in the two weeks of fighting in Herat that led to the fall of the province to the Taliban, health officials said on Friday.
