The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) said that it appealed for $2 billion for Afghanistan’s humanitarian operation in 2022 and that around 46 percent of this has been funded.

The UNICEF in a report expressed concerns over the humanitarian, climate and economic challenges in Afghanistan, saying that 13.1 million children are in need of humanitarian assistance in the country.
