Today - September 9 - is the 16th assassination anniversary of National Hero Ahmad Shah Massoud and the start of Martyrs Week.

16 years ago, Massoud was killed in Takhar’s Khwaja Bahawuddin district by two al-Qaeda network operatives who were posing as television journalists.
