8 Bagram Security Guards Gunned Down

Eight Afghan security guards from Bagram Air Base were killed and two wounded when gunmen opened fire on them at a village close to the base. 

According to the Bagram district governor, the incident took place on Monday night at about 10.30pm in Shah Kah village. 

He said the group of 10 security guards had been on their way to work at the time of the shooting. 

The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Bagram Air Base, is the largest U.S military base in Afghanistan and is about 40km from Kabul.
