Afghanistan National Cricket Team will host Ireland for a three-match One Day International (ODI) series in January, Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced on Tuesday.
The matches, which are scheduled to be held on 18, 21, and 23 January at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi will be part of the ODI Super League that counts towards qualification for the 2023 ICC World Cup, according to ACB.
Ireland have already played three games in the Super league, losing recent England series in Southampton by two games to one.
Ireland last played against Afghanistan in India in March of this year where the Afghans won a three-game T20 series by two matches to one.
In 2019, Afghanistan and Ireland drew a five-game ODI series also in India 2-2 with one game rained off, with Ireland then losing the test match between the sides by seven wickets.
