Rashid Khan Arman, Afghanistan's star cricketer, announced on Saturday that he will help the needy in Afghanistan, as COVID-19 cases increase daily and lockdowns and border-closings upset the Afghan economy.
Khan did not specify how much money he will donate, but he mentioned his intention to help in a Facebook post, saying that needy people are suffering during the lockdown.
“We can’t help everyone but everyone can help someone. I, Rashid Khan, want to help people during this difficult time, as it is my duty,” Rashid Khan posted.
Some business people say they have lost their daily work and face serious financial problems.
Khan is the first Afghan athlete to announce help for the poor people in Afghanistan. He urged other athletes, businessmen and other prominent figures in the nation to help poor people.
