TAWDE KHABARE: Elections Discussed
A number of lawmakers in parliament and members of Afghan political parties have said the Independent Election Commission (IEC) is facing serious problems in preparing the voters lists.
They said that using paper ID cards in the elections will also lower the turnout in the upcoming parliamentary and district councils elections.
According to the election monitoring groups and political parties, issues such as insecurity and public distrust in elections are among core challenges which could undermine the strength of the election commission.
In this episode of Tawde Khabare, host Nemat Rawan discusses the topic with the following guests:
Yousuf Rashid, chairman TEFA
Habiburrahman Nang, election expert
Sayed Ahmad Sailab, member of Kandahar provincial council
Mohammad Natiqi, member of Hizb-e-Wahdat-e-Islami party
