Iranian rescue teams have reached the site of Sunday’s plane crash that killed 66 people, Iran’s Press TV reported.
The Aseman Airlines ATR-72, a twin-engine turboprop, crashed in bad weather into Dena Mount in a remote area near the town of Semirom on Sunday morning.
Local officials in Semirom said the crash site was hard to reach and rescue helicopters had been unable to land because of heavy fog and rain.
Press TV meanwhile reported that search teams reached the crash site before dawn on Monday. The TV station said the weather had improved and broadcast footage of a helicopter joining the search.
Aseman Airlines said all on board Flight EP3704 were killed, including six crew members.
Air controllers lost contact with the airplane at around 8:00 am, officials said on Sunday.
There were 60 passengers on board, including a child, and six crew members.
