Humanitarian assistance provided by Uzbekistan arrived at Hairatan port on Monday and was handed over to the Islamic Emirate.
The special representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Esmatullah Ergashev, said his country is ready to help Afghanistan in economic development.
“We promise the people of Uzbekistan will always stand by the side of the Afghan people. We hope the Afghans who are comprised of several tribes – Pashtuns, Hazara, Uzbek and Tajik always live in unity and brotherhood,” he said.
“We are good neighbors--along the river--and we hope to celebrate our happiness together. We hope Afghanistan establishes a stable situation. Our president has always called for reconciliation in Afghanistan. If there is security, the ground will be paved for economic development,” said the governor of Surkhandarya of Uzbekistan.
