Anas Haqqani: US Repeatedly Violated Doha Agreement

Anas Haqqani, a senior member of the Islamic Emirate, told TOLOnews that the Doha Agreement has been violated repeatedly by the United States.

In an interview with TOLOnews, Anas Haqqani further said that thousands of Islamic Emirate’s forces were killed by the US 14 months after the signing of the Doha agreement.

“Unfortunately, they violated the agreement more than a thousand times. We have written up all the violations and shared them, and they did not have any convincing reasons,” said Anas Haqqani.

After signing the Doha Agreement, the United States and the Islamic Emirate have repeatedly accused each other of violating the agreement.

Haqqani pledged that the Islamic Emirate is committed to respecting the agreement.

“Despite all this, the Islamic Emirate pledged to respect whatever it committed. I am a witness that nothing has happened that they can accuse us of," Haqqani said.

Meanwhile, several Afghan analysts commented on the issue.

“This does not benefit Afghanistan, to blame the other side, this leads Afghanistan further into crisis. It is better to think of other ways,” Said Tariq Farhadi, political analyst.

“According to Zalmay Khalilzad, who was US envoy for Afghanistan and managed Afghanistan’s peace process, both sides violated the agreement,” said Aziz Maarej, a former diplomat.

This all comes as Washington blamed the Islamic Emirate for not respecting the agreement after the report of the Ayman al-Zawahiri killing in Kabul.
