A tourist couple from South Korea arrived in Balkh after visiting seven countries in their mobile home, which they said has all the essential facilities.

One of the two, told TOLOnews he stays in his mobile home instead of a hotel.

“Maybe I think foreigner come here, no problem. Because this is my campaign van. I am not going to hotel. I am sleeping on the road every night anytime because this is my house. I am cooking inside,” he said.

TOLOnews interviewed a Chinese tourist named XIAO, MINGHUA who has also come to Balkh to visit the tourist sites in Afghanistan.

“Traveling in Afghanistan can be very interesting and stunning… I traveled in Afghanistan for over two months. I have been to many provinces from Kabul to Herat, from Ghazni to Kandahar, from Badakhshan to Balkh… I have a lot of good memories here,” he said.

Mohammad Naveed Wahabzada, a cultural activist in Balkh, said that the provincial historic and ancient places draw the attention of the tourists.

“The historic places and ancient areas encourage the tourists to travel from various parts of the world and come here to visit,” he said.

The head of the department of Information and Culture of Balkh, Abdul Wahid Ahady, said that since the start of the current solar year nearly 250 foreign tourists have visited Balkh.

“Within the initial three-months of 1402, approximately 248 foreign tourists came to Balkh,” he said.

“There are efforts for security improvement both day and night. The people will be traveling in a calm environment,” said Noorulhadi Abu Idris, deputy governor of Balkh.
