More than 400,000 Tazkiras Distributed in One Month: Officials

The National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) announced the distribution of more than 400,000 electronic national identity cards (Tazkira) in the past month.

Mohammad Halim Rafi, the NSIA spokesman, said that they have distributed electronic NID/tazkiras to more than 50,000 people only in Kabul.

The spokesman said: “the NSIA has distributed more than 400,000 electronic Tazkiras in the past month, most of which have been distributed in Kabul. And 53,000 people have received Tazkira only in the capital."

Rahmatullah came from Samangan province to get an electronic Tazkira in Kabul. He cannot afford to pay for the electronic Tazkira.

Rahmatullah told TOLOnews: “I am poor and I work with my wheelbarrow in the city and as it is clear, the work situation is also not good. Now it has been a week that I wander to get an electronic Tazkira but no one gives me.”

Meanwhile with its publishing, a number of residents of the capital once again complained about the high cost of electronic Tazkiras in the country.

"Even if a person wants to change the picture of his/her Tazkira, he/she has to pay 1,000 Afs to change it, and our compatriots cannot afford this," said Mohammd Ayoub, a Kabul resident.

A number of citizens of the country who came to the capital to get the electronic Tazkiras want more facilities and a reduction in the prices in this issue.

"They should better facilitate the process of getting Tazkira for those who come from the long-distance provinces. I myself came from Paktia and from Badakhshan also lots of people come to get Electronic Tazkira. Before it was 100 Afs  but now the price has increased and the people can not afford it,” said Sayed, a Paktia resident.

Based on the statistics of NSIA, after the Islamic Emirate came into power, more than six million electronic Tazkiras have been distributed throughout the country.
