New Stats Indicate Fall in Anti-Security Incidents in Afghanistan

The Institute for Economics and Peace in its latest report has written that anti-security incidents in Afghanistan have decreased by 71%.

However, in the report of the Global Terrorism Index by this institute, it is mentioned that peace is not fully established across Afghanistan.

The Institute for Economics and Peace in this report stated: "The number of terrorist attacks has also decreased by a total of 71% in Afghanistan. This year is the lowest year of terrorist activity in Afghanistan in the past two decades. While the impact of terrorism has significantly decreased in this country; but it does not mean that peace is fully established in Afghanistan."

However, Pakistan in this list, which was previously ranked seventh, is now in the fourth position, indicating an increase in anti-security incidents in this country.

At the same time, the Islamic Emirate says that security is currently provided in all parts of the country and there is no concern in this regard.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, told TOLOnews: "if compared with the past wars and insecurity in the country, the current security is extraordinary which should be appreciated. It also should be confessed that Afghanistan is not a threat for others,”

Hekmatullah Hekmat, a military affairs analyst regarding the findings of this report, said: "

 "Afghanistan ranks  6th in counterterrorism which was 1st previously. Will the world engage with Afghanistan in this regard and will the world decrease its economic and political pressures?” Said Zalmay Afghan Yar, a political analyst.

Based on the ranking of this institute, among the ten countries that have suffered the most from terrorism in 2023, Afghanistan is in the sixth position, followed by Somalia, Nigeria, Myanmar, and Niger.
