Acting Hajj Minister Travels to Uzbekistan

Noor Mohammad Saqib the acting Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs, in his visit to Uzbekistan met with the Grand Mufti, government officials, and the staff of the Afghan embassy at Tashkent airport.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, said that the trip aims to foster cooperation in the fields of religious education and address other issues with Uzbekistan.

Zabihullah Mujahid added that the Islamic Emirate and Uzbekistan need to strengthen relations in various sectors, especially in the religious sector.

"Uzbekistan and Afghanistan need to strengthen their relationships in different dimensions, one of which is the religious dimension between the two countries. Uzbekistan is one of the countries rich in Islamic historical heritage, and the Minister of Hajj and Religious affairs has traveled to that country," he added.

According to the statement of the Ministry of  Hajj and Religious Affairs, the acting minister will discuss various topics with officials of that country, including development of Kabul-Tashkent cooperation.

"Discussions will take place regarding strengthening and developing relations and close cooperation with the Islamic Emirate, especially the Ministry of Hajj, and Religious affairs, the development and improvement of relations between scholars of the two countries, cooperation, coordination, and exchange of experiences in the sector of mosques and schools, and information in the field of Islamic miniatures with the officials of that country," the statement reads.

"The more we focus on the issue of assistance and attracting the attention of Islamic countries, the more we will progress, and we can also benefit from their experiences," said Abdul Rahman Abed, a religious scholar. 

This comes as the foreign minister of Uzbekistan, after meeting with officials of the Islamic Emirate and returning to his country, had a telephone conversation with Amir Khan Muttaqi, discussing the implementation of agreements made between the two countries and the expansion of Kabul-Tashkent relations.
