3 Dead Due to Flooding in Three Provinces

As a result of the floods in Faryab, Sar-e Pol, and Jowzjan provinces, 3 people have died.

According to local officials, more than 280 homes, hundreds of acres of agricultural land, roads, and bridges have been destroyed due to these floods, and hundreds of livestock have also perished.

Esmaatullah Muradi Faryabi, the spokesperson for the governor of Faryab, said: “Most of these damages occurred in the districts of Khwaja Sabzposh, Almar, Qaisar, and Kohistanat. One person died in the Almar district, and three children drowned in the floods in the Qaisar district; two of them were rescued, and one died.”

Sayed Sefatullah Safwan, the head of Natural Disaster of Sar-e Pol, said: “As a result of the floods yesterday, a 12-year-old child was martyred, and three houses were completely destroyed, and 31 houses were partially destroyed.”

Meanwhile, the victims of natural events asked the caretaker government and humanitarian agencies for aid.

Mohammad Taher, a victim, said: “The flood came and destroyed our area. We must be helped urgently; we have lost everything. Here are homes that had their flour, oil, and rice taken by the flood.”

Mohammad Zahir, a victim, said: “We ask the Islamic Emirate to help us, all our homes are destroyed.”
