At least 35 insurgents were killed in Afghan forces airstrike in southern Kandahar province in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) claimed on Wednesday.
The airstrike was launched in Nesh district of the province to clear the area of insurgents, the MoD said in a statement, adding that a number of villages have been cleared of insurgents.
“Thirty five insurgents were killed, seven vehicles and some weapons and ammunitions were destroyed in ANA airstrikes in Nesh district of Kandahar,” the statement said.
However, the statement did not provide further details about the airstrike.
