Four DABS Staff Members Injured in Blast in Kabul

Four employees of the country’s power distribution company, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), were wounded in a blast in Kabul early on Monday morning as they returned from repairing a power pylon on the outskirts of Kabul, the company confirmed in a statement.

The power pylon was damaged in an explosion on Sunday but the electricity supply was normal as the damage was not too extensive.

The power pylon is located in the Chimtala area in Kabul’s PD17, according to DABS.

Two of those wounded are in critical condition, DABS said in a statement.

According to DABS, the bomb was placed on the employees’ vehicle and was remotely detonated.

The incident comes days after a power pylon was destroyed in the north of Kabul in Mir Bacha Kot district. It took the company one week to repair the power pylon.

The country’s power is mostly provided by imported electricity from Central Asian countries.
