The government on Monday announced ten minister nominations--nine men and one woman--to head government ministries.
The nominations were announced by Sediq Sediqqi, a spokesman for the Presidential Palace, at a press conference on Monday.
The nominees for minister positions:
Bashir Ahmad Tahyanj, Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs
Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani, Ministry of Industry and Commerce
Qudratullah Zaki, Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation
Masooma Khawari, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology
Anwar-Ul-Haq Ahadi, Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock
Fazl Ahmad Manawi, Ministry of Justice
Syed Sadat Mansoor Naderi, State Ministry for Peace Affairs
Noor Rahman Akhlaqi, Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation
Mohibullah Samim, Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs
Abbas Basir, Ministry of Higher Education
“The list of the cabinet of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has been finalized and we want to announce it today,” Sediqqi said.
Based on the law, the nominated ministers should be approved by the MPs.
“We call on the government to send its nominees to the Wolesi Jirga as soon as possible so that the Wolesi Jirga announces its decision about the nominees,” said Amir Mohammad Khaksar, an MP.
According to the Presidential Palace, 22 nominated ministers have been announced so far and the nomination for the Ministry of Economy will be announced soon.
