ATM Machines Reactivated in Various Afghan Provinces: Officials

ATM machines have resumed operations in various provinces after a longtime delay following the rapid fall of the republican government.

Da Afghanistan Bank (Central Bank) said that the reactivation of the ATM machines would further facilitate the banking system.

“Da Afghanistan Bank has been making serious efforts to bring the banking system to a normal level. Reactivation of ATMs was part of those efforts,” said Sabir Momand, a spokesman for Da Afghanistan Bank.

The citizens are happy with the resumption of ATMs operations as they will facilitate access to funds.

“I would be very happy if the ATM machines resume operating because there are a lot of problems in withdrawing our money,” said Mossawir Wahab, a Kabul resident.

To further facilitate the liquidity of the economy, analysts suggest the establishment of mutual banks in neighboring countries.

“The activity of ATM machines will have two benefits. It will prevent people from overwhelming banks, and it can speed up the withdrawal of money,” said Abdul Latif Nazari, the Deputy Minister of Economy.

Since the fall of the former government, citizens have faced challenges in withdrawing money from banks.
