The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) has decided to recount votes from 2,500 polling stations in 18 provinces after it has completed the assessment of over 16,000 complaints.

Most of the polling stations which will be recounted are located in Nangarhar, Kunar and Nimroz provinces, according to IECC spokesman Mohammad Qasim Elyasi.
