Over 6,000 Doctors Took Medical Expert Test: Official

More than 6,000 doctors including 1,200 women took the examination for medical expertise in Monday in Kabul.

A senior official of the Public Health Ministry, Haidar Omar, said that the examinations are held to recruit medical doctors for 465 posts in various fields of the health sector across the country.

"Around 6,220 doctors have enrolled and we have 465 vacancies,” he said.

The head of the National Examination Authority, Abdul Baqi Haqqani, said that the examination will be processed transparently.

"The international community developed their countries in a way that... their youth use their talents to reach a goal," he said.

This comes as some of the participants of the examination urged the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) to increase the number of vacancies.

"We want them to create us more vacancies. They may talk to the private sectors and hospitals,” said Mohammad Noor, a resident of Khost.

Last year, girl students of medical universities were deprived of exit exams to pursue their careers.
