409 New COVID-19 Cases, 12 Deaths Reported in Afghanistan

The Ministry of Public Health on Sunday reported 409 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 1,007samples tested in the last 24 hours. The ministry also reported 12 new COVID-19 deaths and 472 recoveries.

The cumulative number of cases is now 28,833. The total number of deaths is 581 and recoveries is 8,764, according to the Public Health Ministry.

The new cases were reported in Kabul (184), Herat (38), Kandahar (19), Bamyan (3), Baghlan (29), Badghis (33), Ghazni (11), Kunduz (10), Parwan (8), Nimroz (8), Takhar (12), Kunar (1), Farah (8), Kandahar (19), Kapisa (8), Badakhshan (15), Zabul (7), and Nangarhar (15).

The deaths were reported in Kandahar (2), Nangarhar (2), Ghazni (7), and Zabul (1).

The recoveries were reported in Kandahar (5), Nangarhar (123), Ghazni (32), Zabul (2), and Balkh (4).

So far, the ministry has tested 64,958 samples in the country’s laboratories. There are 19,488 active cases of the coronavirus in the country, according to the ministry.
