Afghanistan: Coronavirus Cases Over 20,000

The Ministry of Public Health on Sunday reported 791 new positive cases of COVID-19 from 1,427 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

Kabul was on the top of the list with 313 new positive cases followed by Kabul (313), Khost (128), Herat (94), Kandahar (79), Balkh (7), Nangarhar (18), Logar (1), Nimruz (49), Parwan (11), Samangan (14), Kunar (7), Jawzjan (9), Faryab (17), Ghor (4), Helmand (6), Panjshir (8), Badakhshan (6), Zabul (12) and Nuristan (8).

Also, 45 recovered cases were reported by the ministry in Kabul (16), Herat (8), Kandahar (2), Paktia (6), Khost (10) and Jawzjan (3).

The total number of known deaths from COVID-19 in the country is 357 and the total recovered cases are 1,875, according to the ministry.

So far, 47,327 samples have been tested and the total number of positive COVID-19 cases is 20,342, data by the ministry shows.

The number of active cases is 18,110 in Afghanistan, according to the Public Health Ministry.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 399,832 and the number of global coronavirus cases is 6,897,225, according to Johns Hopkins University.
