Speaking at an exhibition in Kabul called "Akhtar Bazaar," (Eid Bazar), the deputy Minister of Economy, Abdul Latif Nazari, said that the Islamic Emirate’s policy is to support domestic products and that such events promote domestic products.

“A big policy of the government is to support domestic products and these exhibitions can establish the culture for use of the domestic products in the society,” he said.

Meanwhile, some of the participants of the exhibition said that they need to attend international exhibitions abroad to find markets for their products.

The acting head of Afghanistan Chamber of Industry and Mines (ACIM), Abdul Mohib Hashimi, said that the exhibition includes more than 180 stalls of handmade and domestic products.

60 of the stalls belong to women, Hashimi said, adding that handmade products, art pieces and agriculture products are the main products being displayed at the exhibition.

“The companies which are holding exhibitions from domestic products should be standard and a standard should be allowed,” he said.

This comes as some participants urged the Islamic Emirate to provide opportunities for attending international exhibitions.

“We want to be introduced to other countries, so we can display our products (handmade industry) in other countries,” said Fatima Osmani, a participant.

The exhibition of Akhtar Bazar, which will last for four-days, is attended by participants from 34 provinces.
